The Mountainlife Iapetus 4 person tent is a stand-up height tent. The Iapetus 4 person tent has a hydrostatic head of 3000mm with fully taped seams. The tent is also fire retardant and has fibreglass poles. The pitching style for this 4 person tens is a flysheet pitching style and has a sewn in ground sheet to the inner tent. There is a detachable living area with groundsheet too. The Iapetus 4 person tent is an easy to pitch tunnel tent with a large living area. The tent is flysheet pitching first with mesh vents on inner tents allowing for plenty of ventilation.
Hydrostatic head
A hydrostatic head measures how waterproof the fabric or material of a tent or garment is. In the case of the Iapetus 4 person single skin tent; the hydrostatic head is 3000mm. The fabric used to make the tent has a waterproof membrane or coating that prevents water droplets from penetrating through the fabric, therefore it protects you from the elements and of water in particularly. If the fabric is waterproof and has taped seams then it is also windproof due to the embedded membrane.
Fibreglass poles
Fibreglass poles are lightweight yet very strong and durable making them perfect for use in tent equipment.
Flysheet pitching first
When pitching a tent flysheet first means this part of the tent is erected first followed by the material inners. This is advantageous in wet weather as the inside of the tent will remain dry.
