3 Peaks Challenge
A team of 8 colleagues, aka Mountain Madness, will be braving the elements and putting their mental and physical strength to the test by climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 3 days in the 3 Peaks Challenge.
Joining Jack is a young charity, raising money to fund research to find an effective set of treatments to combat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). The charity was set up by the parents of 4 year old Jack Johnson on finding he has DMD. At the moment there is very little awareness of DMD and research is drastically underfunded. However, over the past few years, with the help from charities around the world, human clinical trials have begun to take place with encouraging results.
We have been training hard since April and this has taken many forms! One of our team members leads us in a weekly bootcamp in our office car park and come rain or shine, we’ve been out there on Monday evenings. Some of the team did a practice climb of Snowdon in July while others are incorporating climbs of Scafell Pike into their summer holiday! We’ve all also been undertaking our own training, focusing on our own areas for improvement.
