Ecuador Avenue of the Volcanoes
Raising money for:
Rachel Climbs Cotopaxi
In September I will be taking part in a summit attempt on Mt Cotopaxi in Ecuador. Cotopaxi is 2m higher than Kilimanjaro and is the world's largest ACTIVE Volcano. The summit requires crampons & ropes
I am raising money for the NSPCC because ALL children deserve a bright future and one in which they are safe from harm. This will be my fifth and most challenging overseas challenge for the NSPCC and would love to raise an extra £5,000 in doing so.
I have taken part in a 23 mile walk in Yorkshire during 27 degree heat and with 5,000ft of ascent. I have also just recently climbed Mt Snowdon via the Crib Goch ridge and Crib Y ddysgl, Wales' second highest peak. I also intend to climb Blencathra in the Lake District via the Sharp Edge ridge. The summit of Cotopaxi requires the use of ropes, ice axes and crampons and some parts entail vertical ice wall climbing. If I complete this challenge it will be my biggest achievement to date.
