London-Surrey Ride 100
Raising money for: Haven House Childrens Hospice
I'm cycling over 100 miles from London to Surrey, then back to The Mall in London in one hit. There is a 9 hour limit on this challenge but I'm hoping to complete the ride in less than 7!
Haven House Children's Hospice cares for children and young people from birth to age 19 who have life-limiting conditions and who are unlikely to reach adulthood.
Each year they support 150 families and children across North and North East London and West Essex and with your support they could help many more.
Road cycling is new to me. When I signed up for the 100 mile challenge, I don't think I understood how far this really was. Training started slow, however, in the last 3 months its been non stop! I've worked up to averaging over 150 miles per week, often more - My thighs are burning!
Box hill, Surrey, is a long slow climb 60 miles into the route. I took the time out to ride this part of the route to see what I had in store. Needless to say, it didn't make me feel any better about the task ahead
