New Feet v Kilimanjaro
Raising money for:
Arthritis Research Uk
I climbed Kilimanjaro solo, less than a year after a double foot reconstruction surgery and I have rheumatoid arthritis. The challenge involved 6 days of climbing and descent.
I have suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis for 8years and recently had a double foot reconstruction (see the pics), so I have a personal connection to the charity. Arthritis Research UK provide excellent support to sufferers and their families and help raise awareness to everybody.
I had 2 operations over 4 weeks, I was bed ridden for 5weeks, then I had some special booties & crutches to help me get around the house. I did 3 climbs in the 4 months leading up to the Kili challenge, Snowdon 1,000m, Traunstein (Austria) 1,700m & Kita-dake (Japan) 3,195m. I also built up my stamina by swimming and cycling.
