Sahara Desert Trek
Raising money for:
Weldmar Hospice Care Trust
I am trekking in the Sahara Desert. I will be walking up to 20 miles a day in up to 40 degree heat!
It is a fantastic local charity that does a lot to help people in my county. It not only provides palliative care but also family support which is so important to anyone going through the difficulties of terminal illness.
I am (trying!) to do training walks and gradually increase my fitness. My dog comes on all the walks with me and he is struggling as much as I am. I wouldn't be able to do it without him. My training is not being helped by the fact that I broke my ankle some years ago and have arthritis in it. I am attending physiotherapy to try and overcome the problems with joint movement and pain that I have but I am sure it will all be worth it in the end!
