Tryfan North Ridge for Dad
Raising money for Alzheimer Scotland
The Challenge
My father, who suffered from dementia in the final stage of his life, had a favourite mountain: Tryfan in Snowdonia (always climbed by the tough North Ridge). I plan to climb it to honour him.
The Charity
Dementia affected my father & my father-in-law and will affect so many of us eventually. Alzheimer Scotland does great work in research, education, awareness and support for sufferers and their carers. I'd love to give them a £5k boost!
The Training
I'm 54 so I need to get my hill-fitness back up there. I've already done a good day on Kinder Scout in the Peak and I'll bag a Scottish hill or two before making the attempt. Dad last climbed the North Ridge when he was 60 so there are no excuses!
