Yorkshire three Peaks Challenge
Raising money for: Alzheimers Society
A 24 mile cross country trek in the Yorkshire Dales from Horton-in-Ribbledale, climbing the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m) within 12 hours.
Personal experience of people living with a dementia has given an insight into the devastating effect the disease can have on sufferers and their carers. This disease can affect people of all ages not just our growing aging population. Much needed funds are needed to aid research into combating the disease and help present sufferers and carers.
Training has been difficult to fit in, but when possible has been walking distances of up to 10/20 miles over different terrains and climbing up our local highest peak (297m!!!) or occasionally travelling further afield to find something higher.
