Skier Lindsey Vonn has won her 18th Super-Giant title, and her 5th consecutive women’s World Cup downhill title to become the world’s most successful skier in her discipline, holding a new record and taking this year’s title at Bankso, Bulgaria.
By winning her 18th title, Vonn has overtaken Renate Goetschl of Austria for the record and has won her 51st World Cup title. The Super-Giant or the Super G slalom is a speed event.
Lindsey Vonn is an American alpine ski racer with the US ski team, and made her first world cup debut at the age of 16. She has already had 10 victories this year, including winning her 50th World Cup victory on the Kandahar downhill course in Garmisch, Germany earlier in February. She also won the gold medal in downhill at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
