The Hiker pole is an anti-shock spring loaded assisted hiking pole that is ideal for walking and mountain use. The hiker pole will allow you to walk comfortably and easily even on rough terrain. The hiker pole is shock absorbing and therefore reduces stress on your joints, muscles and ligaments. The hiker pole handle has an ergonomically streamlined handle for extra comfort and is made from lightweight and durable aluminium. The hiker pole is a 3 section telescopic pole with re-enforced twist bar locking mechanism that is adjustable according to height and the type of terrain that you’re walking on. The hiker pole has an adjustable hand and wrist strap as well as a hard wearing tungsten carbide tip; as well as rubber ferrule with steel re-enforced inner foot that is included for durability and grip. The hiker pole also has a mud basket to prevent the pole from digging deep in to the mud when walking on soggy and damp terrain.

Initial impression is of a sturdy piece of equipment, I purchased this item to assist me in field walking. The item when being extended is tight, but I see this is as an advantage, if loose it would become useless. The method of uncrewing and screwing (tightening and releasing) again can be difficult, but after a few goes becomes more accessible. The price was reasonable and the delivery excellent.

I ordered 2 poles and opened one pole which I have since been unable to collapse again. It is still sitting with the tags on as I will need to take it back to a shop at some point. It is not suitable to post back as it is extended. The other one I can manage fine and does what I expected. Hence the mixed review.

Had to replace a pole that was unusable..unable to retract and could not fit the suitcase prior to trip to Madeira. Bought one got one free!! So as a married couple of 42 years we will now "match" on the mountains and fells.

I am planning a walking holiday in China, and following hip surgery i am hopeful these poles will provide support. Particulary on uneven terrain and uphill gradient which i find difficult.

Other poles have smoother action but at a significantly higher price. This pole is also shorter when compacted than many and can easil be carried in suitcases for holiday use.

Decided at the last minute to attempt the coffin walk from Grasmere to Rydal Mount. I don't think I would have managed without this. (I am in my 60's). Sturdy and dependably

Once I had worked out how to extend/retract these poles (I had to go back to the store to be taught again!) they have been very useful on my walking holiday

Bought to use when walking in the snow or ice in Norway. Very light for packing, seem quite robust and lock to appropriate height easily.

can be a little tricky to alter the length until you get the hang of it, but can be shortened to fit in a suitcase/large backpack

Not an easy mechanism and diffcult to adjust and tighten . Then when it is tight it is difficult to undue to pack away
