Merino Men's Zip Neck Base Layer Top

I happened to be in a cycling shop and overheard a Sales Assistant tell a customer to get down to Covent Garden (He couldn't remember the store's name) and buy a merino wool base layer if he wanted to stay warm in the extreme cold snap we recently had. Two days later I happened to be in Covent Garden and stumbled across the very same top. I bought 2, they fitted like a glove. I went for a long bike ride that evening in sub-zero temperatures and despite sweating profusely I stayed warm and dry. This top also works well as a single layer under a soft-shell wind-stopper. I went back the next day to buy two more, unfortunately there was only one left in my size but I'm still looking.

Great, everything you would expect from Merino wool. Its super warm for the thickness, wicks sweat away from the body and still keeps you warm even when its wet. As a bonus it doesn't get smelly if you need to wear it a few times before you wash it i.e. a weekender when you need to travel light

Extremely comfortable easy wearing base layer. Everyone says natural Merino fibres are the best and now that I have got one I have to agree. The zip neck version stands up higher around the neck which I prefer for added warmth.

Excellent garment, that has been very well made and well finished. Merino wooli is normally quite expensive but I find this product with Mountain warehouse very reasonably priced.

Having previously bought this item for myself and my partner, I bought one today for my brother too for christmas. They are brilliant for all walkers, but also for bikers.

Good quality thermal layer. Kept me surprisingly warm when out running on cold night. Zip is comfortable, and can provide some much needed ventilation if it gets too warm

I have used for cycling over the past couple of days and it has been extremely comfortable, light and warm without being too hot. Dries quickly. All I expected of it.

This was very good value for merino base layer. I really like the fact that it has no logo. I would have bought navy blue, if it had been available in this colour

True to size I am 40" chest = Medium and a good length in the arms. Would prefer it slightly longer in the body (or with a scallop back) but long enough to tuck in

walking socks trousers that can have the lower part removed to make into shorts size 38 wintertrek trousers which are slightly too large around waist

Good quality as described. Warm and comfortable. Couldn't comment on durability as have only had them for a week. Use them under motorcycle leathers.

Great for warmth as a base layer, have yet to try it on an extended walk so can't comment on how it performs as the body gets hotter.

So far so good. Bought for long distance hiking over multiple days, to reduce the need to wash the clothing and go the distance.

We have one purchased previously and find it excellent. It dries very quickly after washing.

Merino wool is worth the extra money as it is thin but warm and doesnt irritate the skin,

excellent quality garment at a superb price. I would definatley purchase this item again
