Waterproof TrousersOur comprehensive range of waterproof trousers are ideal for when you want both your top and bottom half to keep warm and dry. Waterproof over trousers are packed with features like taped seams, an expandable leg opening and mesh lining for breathabilty. Team them with some waterproof hiking boots and gaiters for true protection from the rain.
Waterproofing All our waterproof clothing is measured for its waterproofing ability by using an advanced technical method called ‘hydrostatic head’. Waterproof clothing with a 10, 000mm hydrostatic head will withstand the equivalent of 10.000mm of water before it will begin to penetrate the fabric making it a very waterproof garment. Make sure you select your waterproof clothing carefully by judging the conditions you’re going to be using it in. There are other factors to consider as well; a waterproof jacket or pair of waterproof trousers with taped seams will be more waterproof than one that does not have this feature. Taped seams are required to make a garment fully waterproof and are when the stitched areas of the fabric are sealed to prevent any water getting in. Breathability As with waterproof jackets, keeping dry is as much to do with breathability as it is to how much rain is kept out. Waterproof trousers with mesh lining will be more breathable than those without.
