06.03.2012 | Cycling News

Bradley Wiggins is the overall leader in the Paris-Nice cycling classic race, clinching the yellow jersey with the help of his team mate, Welsh cyclist Geraint Thomas. The Race to the Sun is an interlude for Wiggins between track training for the team pursuit in the Olympics. Wiggins holds the yellow jersey with a six second lead over US cyclist, Levi Leipheimer.

Wiggins is the first British leader of the race since 2007 and stated that his next objective was the Tour de France which he and Team Sky teammates are currently working towards.

Bradley Wiggins is a member of the British Olympic cycling pursuit team, who took gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics along with Paul Manning, Ed Clancy and Geraint Thomas as well as Team Sky, a professional road bicycle racing team who aim to create the first British winner of the Tour de France within five years.
