On top of that, this year welcomed our Charity Challenge ambassador; Britain\u2019s best ever gymnast, Beth Tweddle, who will be joining the winner to complete one of her bucket list activities: helicopter flying!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.cdn.mountainwarehouse.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/9.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-11075 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.cdn.mountainwarehouse.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/9-226x300.jpg\" alt=\"9\" width=\"226\" height=\"300\" data-id=\"11075\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.cdn.mountainwarehouse.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/9-226x300.jpg 226w, https:\/\/blog.cdn.mountainwarehouse.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/9.jpg 255w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><\/a>The winner of this year\u2019s Charity Challenge is Alec Shillaker, who will be trekking Argentina\u2019s Aconcagua next month to raise money for Meningitis Now<strong>;<\/strong>\u00a0a UK charity which saves lives and rebuilds futures by funding research, raising awareness and providing support to those affected by meningitis.<\/p>\n<p>Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Southern &amp; Western hemisphere and the 2nd highest of the 7 summits after Everest. The challenge should take 27 days to complete and in temperatures as low as -30C.<\/p>\n<p>Alec and his wife Victoria wanted to raise money for Meningitis Now for a cause very close to their hearts,<em>\u201cmy son, Finn, had pneumococcal meningitis when he was 9 months old.
