Walking your dog is an important part of your pet\u2019s day, not only for them to relieve themselves but it\u2019s also vital for their mental stimulation and health. On average dog owners walk their pooches for nearly 9 hours a week*, that\u2019s a long time to be spent outside without the proper dog walking gear, so we have put together a guide on what you\u2019ll need to have the best walk possible.<\/p>\n

Waterproof Products <\/u><\/h2>\n

We all know how unpredictable British weather can be, even the height of summer is prone to a rainy day or two. We\u2019d suggest investing in some waterproof clothing to protect you from a heavy downpour. All waterproof garments are given a waterproof rating, this is measured with a number ranging from around 1,500mm to 20,000mm. The higher the number, the more waterproof the product.<\/p>\n

Waterproofness is tested to ensure the product meets the British Standard (which must be more than 1,500mm). Waterproof ratings are measured in millimetres using a Hydrostatic Head test. In a Hydrostatic Head test, the fabric is pulled tight under a 1 inch diameter sealed tube of water. This is then observed over 24 hours to ascertain how many millimetres of water the fabric can withstand before it soaks through. The level at which water starts to come through the fabric is the hydrostatic head, which is measured in mm. See the below video for more information.<\/p>\n
