A total of 90,000 votes have been counted and verified to reveal that Theodoros Michaelides, fundraising for Tree of Hope<\/a>, is the winner of the Mountain Warehouse Charity Challenge.<\/p>\n

\"Charity-Challenge-Featured\"Over 660 intrepid walkers, runners, cyclists and explorers entered the competition and shared their inspiring stories in the hope of winning \u00a35000 for their chosen charity. The public then voted and shared their favourite story on social media, gaining an impressive 50,000 Facebook shares.<\/p>\n

Mr Michaelides, who completed the London to Brighton 60 mile bike ride in July, gained an impressive 13,871 votes over the two rounds of public voting. He is campaigning for four-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer, Charlie Grainger, to receive life-changing surgery to help him walk.<\/p>\n

Michaelides said: “The charity challenge has been an amazing experience, seeing how a small community pulled together to get votes. It ended up being a two horse race with a nail biting finish as my closest rivals had over 20k supporters on their Facebook page compared with our 7k.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nominated children\u2019s charity, Tree of Hope, are equally as excited to hear the news of the \u00a35000 prize.\u00a0The CEO of the charity, Jeremy Marris, said: “Tree of Hope is absolutely delighted that Theodorus Michaelides is the winner of \u00a35000 in Mountain House Warehouse’s Charity Challenge. This money will help Charlie Grainger and make a significant difference to his young life, by paying for much needed physiotherapy and equipment.”<\/p>\n
