Festivals are just about as much as the camping as they are about the music, so why not camp in style with a tent from Mountain Warehouse? Our specially chosen selection of tents will make sure you get the most out of your festival camping experience as well as helping you save those all important pounds!
When choosing your tent, if in doubt, go for a bigger size. It’s better to spend a little more and have a little extra space than to go for a smaller style and be cramped. When looking at how many people a tent will hold, remember to account for all your equipment and clothing.
Mountain Warehouse has a fantastic selection of brightly coloured and patterned tents for making sure you can spot your tent out of a sea of many! Why not also take along some of our parachute cord and use it to make banners or bunting to make your tent really unique!
Our pop up tents are ideal for the camper who wants minimal fuss and quick pitching, and for smaller groups. These tents simply explode out the bag, and have groundsheets sewn in, and can be set up in less than a minute, and then require simple securing with the enclosed pegs. No need for extra guy ropes as it all comes attached.
If there is a larger group, a tunnel or monodome tent will be more ideal. Monodome tents are straightforward to pitch and due to the dome shape are more roomy and suitable for a larger group. Tunnel tents are the ultimate in festival camping and comprise of a living area and bedroom area, for privacy, making it ideal for big groups and for those who want plenty of space. A tunnel tent will allow you to keep a separate storage area for your backpack, food and clothing as well as being able to stand up inside your tent. And there’s no need to worry about problems with pitching your tent as many of our larger tunnel tents have colour coded poles just to make assembly and life just that little bit easier! All of our tents have easy to follow instructions sewn into the packaway bag, so you never have to worry about losing the instructions.
When purchasing your tent consider how you will get it to the festival. If travelling by car, a larger, heavier tent is no issue, but if not, carrying a heavy tent is not ideal and there also may be baggage restrictions when travelling by public transport.
The days of the leaky tent are far behind us, as all of our tents are made from waterproof fabric, and the majority of our tents have taped seams. Taped seams means where the stitched areas have been specially taped with waterproof tape, to stop any water or moisture seeping through the fabric seams. It is well known that a beautiful summer morning can quickly turn into a grey, rainy day, and Mountain Warehouse tents are specially engineered to protect you from the elements and give you extra peace of mind!
If it’s been especially bad weather and you’re worried that your tent may not stand up to heavy rain, check the hydrostatic head of the fabric composition of the tent. We test how waterproof the fabric is under increasing water pressure before it penetrates the fabric. The more water that is pushed against the fabric without penetrating the fabric, the higher the hydrostatic head. As a minimum, all Mountain Warehouse tents have a hydrostatic head of 1500mm, and some tents have a higher level for more extreme weather.
Mountain Warehouse tents are top quality and even better priced, so if you choose to purchase a tent for a one off, it won’t dent your finances, but the quality of our products means that, for your next festival, you won’t have to shell out for another tent.
