Water Filter

The BOXIO Water Filter is a compact three-stage filtration system for campers, van lifers and anyone who needs safe drinking water from rivers, streams or lakes. It weighs just 110 grams and measures 15.5 cm long, so it fits in a daysack without you noticing it's there. The filter connects directly to standard PET bottles or the supplied flexible bladder, and it works without batteries, pumps or chemical tablets. You can drink straight through it like a straw, screw it onto a bottle to collect and filter water on the move, or use the optional 5-litre water bag to fill a canister by gravity. It removes 99.99% of bacteria (tested with E. coli), protozoa and microplastics through a PP cotton pre-filter, ultrafiltration membrane and activated carbon stage. The filter is backwashable and rated for up to 8,000 litres before replacement, which makes it a practical long-term option rather than something you'll bin after a weekend. This filter suits UK wild camping where the main risk is biological contamination from livestock or wildlife upstream. It won't remove viruses, heavy metals or agricultural chemicals, so it's not suitable for water you know is polluted. The three-stage setup does a proper job on plant-based freshwater sources though. The pre-filter catches sediment and protects the membrane from clogging, the UF membrane does the real work on bacteria and protozoa, and the carbon stage sorts out any odd taste or smell. Backwashing takes seconds and keeps the flow rate decent between trips. Van lifers will find the gravity option genuinely useful for filling the BOXIO WASH or a larger water container without standing there squeezing a bottle for ten minutes. It's a straightforward bit of kit that does what it's supposed to without fuss.
