The Ultra O's symmetrical rope baskets are ideal for assisted breaking devices, pulleys, swivels and shackles. They also give stable loading characteristics, as attachments can self-centre under load with minimal movement from the carabiner. This carabiner's nose slots into a groove in the gate, allowing it to achieve full strength without a gate notch. This creates a clean internal profile that won't catch on gear, bolts or slings, giving easier clipping and removal from systems. Oval carabiners have curved rope baskets for compatibility with slings, ropes, pulleys, and devices. The baskets allow attachments to self-centre when loaded, giving greater stability in systems that D shaped carabiners. Their symmetry allows them to work both ways in rigging systems. I-Beam construction techniques allow carabiners to be lighter without compromising strength. This is achieved through hot forging, a process which allows metal to be made into complex shapes that improve functionality. Captive bars ensure carabiners load along their strongest axis by securing their orientation, and can also be used to create tamper proof systems that cannot be dismantled by users.
