Its microfibre filling, a synthetic alternative to down, holds in your body heat, while the DWR-treated outer makes droplets bead and roll off in light rain. It's lightweight and designed for layering, so you can wear it over your usual midlayer on cold mornings or fold it into your bag when you travel.
