Last week we handed Gavin Hughes, Mountain Warehouse Charity Challenge 2014 winner in the Three Peaks Challenge category, a giant cheque for £1,000.
Gavin climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mt Snowdon with 7 others in under 24 hours in June this year in aid of RNLI’s Andy Cantle Forever by the Sea Fund.
Gavin said, “The money donated by Mountain Warehouse will benefit Sunderland Lifeboat Station greatly. Thanks to this donation we are half way to raising the total funds needed for a new Inshore D-class Lifeboat in memory of former crew member Andy Cantle. The RNLI relies on public donations and, where possible, volunteers to run the lifesaving service. Without the generosity of companies and the public alike this service wouldn’t be able to function as it does today, so thank you.”
Congratulations, Gavin!
