The Vango Driveaway Twin Kit does one specific job - it connects your driveaway awning to your motorhome's awning rail whilst letting you unhitch and drive off without collapsing the entire setup. It uses a Figure of 8 connector system that slides onto your awning's tunnel section and locks into both the supplied Kador strip and your vehicle's existing 4mm or 6mm C-profile rail. This 3-metre kit covers most small to mid-sized driveaway awnings, and you can trim both the connectors and Kador strip to match your exact tunnel width. When you're ready to head out for the day, you loosen the front webbing straps, slide the Figure of 8 sections out of your vehicle rail (the Kador strip stays attached), and roll the tunnel section away from your motorhome. Your awning remains standing on its own frame while you're gone. You'll need an existing C-profile awning rail fitted to your vehicle before this kit can work. The supplied components replace the standard beading that normally threads into your awning tunnel, so there's some initial threading to do when you first set it up. Most people find the Figure of 8 sections slide more smoothly with a light spray of silicone lubricant, though Vango doesn't include this. Once everything's threaded correctly, attaching and detaching becomes straightforward enough to manage solo. The twin rail compatibility means it works with the most common aftermarket rails fitted to panel vans and coachbuilt motorhomes, whether they're 4mm or 6mm internal width. Reconnecting when you return takes roughly the same time as setting up a windbreak - just line your vehicle up with the awning and slide the Figure of 8 connectors back into the rail.
