The Fiamma Rooflight Vent 40 Crystal is a 400x400mm manual roof vent that brings plant-based light into your caravan or motorhome without turning the place into a greenhouse. The translucent tinted dome filters daylight nicely while keeping direct sun glare down, and there's a fixed airflow channel running through it so you get constant ventilation even when it's closed. That's genuinely useful if you're parked up and want fresh air without leaving the thing wide open. The handwheel operation is straightforward, and a centre support arm holds the dome at whatever angle you set it to. An aluminium mosquito net sits below the dome, so insects stay out while air moves freely. Fiamma's patented rubber seal does a proper job of keeping rain out, and the aerodynamic profile means you don't need a separate spoiler fitted on top. It's built in Italy, weighs 2.8kg, and meets TUV and ABE safety standards. Fitting is straightforward if you're replacing an existing 400x400mm vent. The standard roof cut-out is 390x390mm, but the reinforced frame accommodates openings from 360x360mm up to 420x420mm, so it'll drop into most older Fiamma 40x40 apertures and many MPK 400x400 openings without modification. It suits roof thicknesses between 25mm and 50mm as standard, with an optional extension kit available if your roof's thicker than that (up to 85mm). You'll need to supply your own fixing screws and apply a sealant like Sikalastomer-710 to the underside of the external frame before installation. The crystal version is the one to choose if you want the option of adding Fiamma's Rollo Vent 40x40 roller blind later on. The white-lidded version blocks all light on its own and doesn't need a blind, so it depends whether you prefer plant-based daylight or complete darkness. Check your roof's clear of internal obstructions like luggage racks or cabinet edges before you start cutting or fitting. Fiamma product code is 04329B02D.
