The Vango Arden Tailgate Driveaway Awning is designed for those quick weekend getaways and overnight stops where you don't want to spend ages setting up. At just 7.9kg and pitching in around 5 minutes, it's ideal for low-height campervans and SUVs. What makes this awning practical is its single-pole design and the fact you can attach it to pretty much any vehicle thanks to the pre-fitted 6mm kador, over-vehicle straps, roof bar tabs, and pole-clamp sleeve options included. The width adjusts to 190cm and the height range sits between 180-210cm, so you've got decent flexibility for different vehicle sizes. Made from Sentinel Active 75D fabric with a 3,000mm hydrostatic head, it's been properly tested to European standard EN5912 for wind and rain performance. The Diamond Clear windows let in plenty of plant-based light whilst giving you a proper view outside, and there's an internal mesh door to keep bugs out when you're enjoying some fresh air. Inside, you'll find the linked-in groundsheet useful because you can detach it for cleaning after muddy pitches. The SkyTrack II system runs along the inside, letting you hang lights or storage pods wherever you need them. Privacy curtains toggle up and down easily enough, and the bright guylines actually help you spot them at night so you don't trip over. Vango includes steel pegs in their own carry bag, and the main bag is deliberately oversized to make packing away less of a faff. Worth noting this is a touring awning rather than something for long-term seasonal use, as extended UV exposure will degrade the fabric over time. The PowerFlex fibreglass poles handle typical British weather well, and you can pitch this on either the side or rear of your vehicle depending on your setup. Orange markers show you which pegging points to tackle first, making the initial shape easier to get right before you secure everything down.
