The Fiamma Rooflight Vent 40 Crystal is a manually operated 400 x 400mm roof vent that fits caravans, motorhomes and van conversions with a standard 390 x 390mm roof cut-out (though it'll work with apertures from 360 x 360mm up to 420 x 420mm). It's an Italian-made unit with a translucent tinted dome that floods your living space with plant-based light whilst keeping direct visibility restricted, which makes it ideal for kitchens and habitation areas where you want brightness without compromising privacy. The outer dome measures 455 x 455mm and sits on a reinforced frame that accommodates roof thicknesses between 25mm and 50mm as standard. There's an optional extension kit available if your roof's thicker than 50mm, taking compatibility up to 85mm. The vent opens and closes using a handwheel mechanism, with a centre support arm holding it steady at whatever angle you set. Permanent ventilation comes from a fixed airflow channel built into the design, so air circulates even when the vent's closed. An aluminium mosquito net sits below the dome to keep insects out whilst allowing airflow. Fiamma's patented rubber seal system keeps rainwater out, and the aerodynamic profile of the outer dome reduces wind noise at motorway speeds without needing a separate spoiler fitted. The whole unit's made from UV-resistant materials and carries TUV and ABE safety approvals. It's a direct replacement for older Fiamma 40x40 rooflights and compatible with many other brands' 400 x 400mm apertures, including most MPK models with similar cut-outs. You'll need to supply your own fixing screws (around 20 in total) and apply a suitable sealant like Sikalastomer-710 to the underside of the external frame during installation.
